How can I get that sourdough bread?
The artisan sourdoughs from our partners at Prevail Bakehouse are all the rage! We hope to once again be able to offer bread at the farm in the near future. Stay tuned!
-
Q. Do you charge sales tax?
As a qualified farm in Tennessee, we are not required to charge sales tax on items grown on our farm and those produced by some other farmers. Products by other partners, products containing non-farm ingredients, and non-farm products may be subject to TN sales tax. Sales tax will be automatically calculated in the shopping cart.
About The Farm

Q. Can I visit the farm?
We practice full transparency with our growing and farming practices and welcome you to visit to see how we do things. Pickup hours are a great time to visit since we are outside to greet customers. We no longer schedule farm tours due to the heavy workload required to keep the farm running.
-
Q. What is the meaning behind the farm name?
Our farm name is inspired by this ancient Chinese proverb which has deep meaning for our family: "An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but never break."
-
Q. What are your growing practices?
Red Thread Farm practices sustainable, regenerative farming methods and we're constantly learning new and better ways to produce nutrient-dense, healthy, clean food. We grow food on a human scale using hand tools with very minimal tillage to promote the health of our living soils. We never use toxic chemicals or synthetic fertilizers. Red Thread Farm practices full transparency with our customers, so don’t hesitate to ask us anything!
-
Q. Are you certified organic?
Although we practice organic growing methods, we have chosen not to be certified by the USDA. As a micro farm, most of our customers know us and see how we grow and care for the land. We think transparency with our community is more effective than governmental oversight.
