Okra is quintessential southern comfort food and we can't imagine summer without it. Okra is best known as an ingredient in gumbo, but we love it simply roasted with a little olive oil and kosher salt. We pick small 3 to 5 inch pods at the peak of flavor and tenderness. You just can't find good fresh okra at the grocery store, so get it while it lasts.
